Landmark Services wins awards

We were pleased to have won two Gold CotY (Contractor of the Year) awards at the recent EM-NARI dinner. The first was for the "Best Addition over $200,000" for this addition in Weston. Since it is EM-NARI's 15th anniversary, they had a special category in which contractors were invited to enter the "best project they have completed in the past 15 years." We entered and won first place for this addition/renovation in Newton!

Of course it takes a great team to make for a successful projects. Congratulations to architect David Torrey of Menders, Torrey, & Spencer for his design for the Newton project and to photographer Peter Lewitt. Likewise, on the Weston job we tip our hat to architect Heather Degregorio for a great design within the very tight restrictions set by the historic commission and to Shelly Harrison for her great photos.

And, finally, thank you to our clients for  their confidence in Landmark Services.

What's Happening at Landmark Services

Current renovation projects...

We're just starting a renovation on a Shingle Style house in Canton by famed 19th century Milton architect William Ralph Emerson. This phase of the work includes the renovation of the basement, with Home Theater, Wet Bar, etc. We'll also be installing a geothermal heating and cooling system (our third this year!).

We're wrapping up a year-long renovation/restoration of a ca. 1795 Federal style house in Milton, MA.  The project included geothermal heating and cooling and solar panels on the roof. Check our portfolio in the coming weeks for a complete phto tour of this magnificent project.

We're currently renovating and adding on to a ca. 1870 Mansard Victorian in Brookline. We lifted the house up on to cribbing on order to install a new foundation to replace the old one that was failing. We've also converted the carriage house on the same property into a residence.  We expect to wrap up this project in the Spring of 2010.  By the way, this project will also have geothermal heating and cooling. We'll be blogging about this project in the coming weeks, so check out our old house blog.

One of our crews has been working for most of 2009 on a ca. 1890 Shingle Style house in Milton, MA. We restored the exterior of the house about five years ago and were called back to renovate the third floor and the kitchen, among other things.

We're also doing projects to a Victorian in Newton (exterior repairs to a Victorian house) and an early 18th century house in Westboro (all sorts of repairs and renovations). By the way, the last three projects described here are all new projects for old clients. We take pride in the high rate of repeat business that we do for our clients.

We've recently completed renovating and adding on to a 1920's house in the town of Marshfield. The addition includes a Master Suite and home office/studio situated over a new garage.

Upcoming projects...

We're a few weeks away from breaking ground on a new post and beam house in Harvard, MA. On this project we're teaming up with BensonWood Timber Framers. They'll raise the frame and we'll complete the carpentry both inside and out, as well as oversee the rest of the project (foundation, mechanicals, etc).

Other news...
