Adding architecturally appropriate additions to historic structures requires an understanding of both modern expectations for living and of the qualities that give these buildings their unique presence. For years, Landmark Services, Inc. has been building additions that blend seamlessly into the original historic work, faithfully reproducing period detail while meeting their clients' needs for comfort and convenience. We are a modern building and renovation contractor bringing together a mastery of state of the art building techniques with a passion for historic architecture. At every stage of the renovation and reproduction project, our contribution helps to insure that the new work functions in harmony with the existing period structure, combining modern functionality and the look and feel of period architecture. We are often able to help make a modern design layout work in a period home.
We've been building additions to historic houses since 1991. We love the challenge of blending additions with the existing old house. We’ve built dozens of additions through the years of all sizes, shapes, and purposes: kitchen additions, family rooms, master bedroom suites- you name it, we’ve built it.
Some of our additions blend so well with the historic house that it’s difficult to tell that they’re additions. By being faithful to the original architecture (roof pitches, molding details, etc) a very successful merge of old and new is possible.
Since 1991, Landmark Services, Inc. has worked with clients who understand the value and importance of preserving our unique historic architectural legacy. We seek to merge historic materials with the latest technology to preserve the character of the historic properties on which we work and to furnish modern convenience, energy efficiency and comfort. We work for homeowners, architects, realtors, and historic societies throughout Massachusetts, Rhode Island, and beyond. Our dedication to craftsmanship and to the structures themselves is our clients' best assurance of a successful project. Let us be accountable for the success of your important project, large or small.
