Apple CEO Jobs Cannot Tear Down Historic Mansion—Court. A California court overruled a prior decision allowing Apple CEO Steve Jobs from demolishing the mansion, which he has owned for more than twenty years. Local historic preservation advocates are very happy with the decision. Looks like Jobs will be forced to either restore or sell the 17,000sf house.

Alliance protects Shaker property. Great to see that this important Shaker village will be protected from development. The handful of Shakers living at Sabbathday Lake are the last surviving Shakers.

Take It Away - New York Times. Moving historic houses to save them is becoming a more common occurance around the country. Unfortunately, most developers place no value on these houses and they either get moved or torn down.
